Going out of business sales

We stopped by Zellers today. A truly Canadian store that’s not been able to keep up with the beasts like Costco and Walmart. As a result, all of their stores are either converting to target (American) stores or just closing down.

It’s a shame because I really like Zellers. You can usually pick up some pretty good deals. It worked out well for us though! Everything was 40-80% off. We decided to pick up essentials (toilet paper, flour, crackers, pasta sauces, rice) to name a few. We grabbed a few packs of kids socks since my kid goes through them so quickly – $5 then 70% off.

A great frugal day shopping and the pantry is stocked back up with the essentials at a fraction of the cost. We walked out saving $80.00. Not too shabby considering this is stuff we would normally buy!

To top it all off, we got home an there was an awesome thunder and lightening storm.
